Be Essential All-Natural Body Care began with a simple question: What would it look like to craft the most dynamic, aromatherapeutic all-natural body care products, using the least amount of ingredients possible? For our founder, Jeffrey David Harvey — a musician turned aromatherapy specialist — the answer was clear: strip away the unnecessary, elevate the essentials, and let nature’s purest elements do the work.

What began as curiosity became a mission to create the highest quality body care possible, that is minimal in ingredients yet rich in sensory experience. The end result is Be Essential All-Natural Body Care. Fresh, clean, gender-neutral scents that promote wellness of the body, mind, and spirit. Hand-crafted in Long Beach, California. Aromatherapy body care designed to celebrate you, because you are essential. 

Inspiration

Inspired by California nature. Every scent we create draws inspiration from California’s diverse natural landscapes — from the cool, salty breezes of the Pacific Ocean to the sun-warmed air of the Mojave Desert. Our visual identity, brought to life by Emmy Award–winning designer Jim Button, reflects this same spirit of nature, helping our products stand out as boldly on your bathroom shelf as they would beside your record collection. Each Be Essential product is hand-crafted to be as dynamic to the eye as they are to the senses.

Sustainability 

Be Essential products are meticulously handcrafted in small batches in our beautiful Long Beach, California studio. We carefully source as many organic ingredients as possible, crafting products with purpose, to bring you the highest quality aromatherapeutic experience.

Our deep connection to nature goes beyond ingredients, it also extends to our commitment to sustainability. We believe in treading lightly on the Earth, and that's why our packaging is thoughtfully chosen to minimize environmental impact. Every Be Essential product is housed in 100% compostable or recyclable packaging in order to combat the single use plastic pollution problem affecting our planet and oceans today. We see this as a way to honor the environment that has provided us with so much inspiration.

Philanthropy 

We are also very passionate about giving back to our community. Two percent of each product sold goes directly to local non-profits, starting with Precious Lamb Preschool, an early childhood education center in Long Beach, California that serves children ages 18 months - 5 years who are experiencing homelessness.

Our founder is not only a supporter of Precious Lamb, he’s a former teacher and a current volunteer with the organization.

Purpose

At Be Essential, we believe in the transformative benefits of aromatherapy for the body, mind, and spirit. Our mission is to share these benefits with you through our thoughtfully curated body care line. Our products will always be free of aluminum, parabens, and fillers. Our products will always be made with only the minimal amount of all-natural, effective ingredients. Our hope is to bring a little Southern California sunshine to every body we serve.
